There is no parents who desires to have a failure and continue spending on somebody who cannot give back to them or be fruitful in their future. As for you, since you have got the privilege to go to the college, you need to do your best to ensure that your parents are always proud of you.
It is the best investment they have put on you. Remember there are many people who would like to go to school but they never go the chance. You, therefore, must do your best with whatever you get and do not disappoint your parents and teachers as well.
Before you ask, making your parents proud does not necessarily mean you have to come top in your class in every other exam. The best way to prove yourself is bringing out the hidden treasure in you. This might manifest in many different ways.
In this article I will cover some of the ways you can apply to help you to be the kind of child your parents would want everybody to know about. You will be surprised to understand that they will not be looking at your educational performance only. Here are some of the things to take note of:
Guidelines on How to Make Your Parents Proud
1. Keep Up the Morals Your Parents Have Been Teaching You:
Every parent wants to have a son or daughter with the highest moral standards. Even though things tend to get out of control in some situations, you must always try as much as you can to maintain the best out of your character. Whether you are at home or on the campus, you must be sure to behave yourself and keep boundaries. Never engage in compromising situations.
Friends are known to be the number one determinant of the character of any individual. When choosing your friends in the university, you must look for people that you share the same interests. Apart from keeping you on guard, they can build your ambition.
When you have friends who can help you have a positive life, it is easier even to plan your future and spend your time on things that matter most to your life as well as impacting other people’s lives. When you keep good morals, it is not likely to be found among those students that get suspended from the school.
2. Do not Be Discouraged When You Fail in Anything You Try Out:
Whether it is an examination or a personal project you are carrying out, I know you will expect the best results out of it. I also know that your parents will be expecting you to come through and show them your victory. That would be great if you can achieve.
However, we know that different circumstances and scenarios may affect your results. No matter what you get at last, you have to prove that you are still good at whatever you were doing or you are going to do better. If your parents are coming rough on your performance, do not reply or talk rude to them.
Give them time to settle and find time and talk with them. Assure them that you can do better and explain what went wrong and what you are planning for better results the next time. If you need any help from them, calmly let them know what it is and give them time if they cannot provide it right then.
3. Be Available and Offer Your Help When They Need You:
While on holiday, your parents expect to have time with you. It is a good idea if you can get home and spend time with them./ They may need you to help them solve a few issues at home, do some manual work, etc. At times, parents feel happy when they see you around and are able to know what kind of a person you are.
If you have anything to work on during the holidays, it is wise to discuss it with your parents. They will be glad to learn your progress and determination. If you can spend a day or two with them and continue with your personal projects, you will be the favorite child of your parents.
If You Make Your Parents Proud, They will shower you with a lot of blessings and prayers and you too will be Glad You Did.
