10 tips to get first class

To some people graduating with a first class isn’t at all possible in some departments in Nigeria Universities, due to factors ranging from victimization from lecturers and the difficulties associated with the learning system.
Graduating with a first class is very possible if you begin on the right track right from your very first day in school. Still thinking it’s almost impossible? Here are 10 tips on how to make a first class starting from your first year in school.
1. You have got to want it
Right from the onset you need to tell yourself that you really want to graduate with a first class, this determination is the driving force required to take you closer to your goal. Students who end up graduating with a first class worked hard with a genuine desire to achieve it.
2. Learn to love reading books.
Majority of students in tertiary institutions don’t spend time in studying. The few that learn to study hard day and night are the ones with higher chances of graduating with a first class. Read books that are both related and unrelated to your course of study, no knowledge they say is wasted.
3. Be friendly with your lecturers.
Build a rapport with your lecturers, whether it is related to the course or you just have some pressing issue, see your lecturers as people you can confide in, the more you get to interact with them the easier for them to become aware of your true potentials.
4. Do not skip classes.
It’s very common for students to skip lectures for one reason or another. If you are aiming for a first class you’ve got to try your best to attend all your lectures, whether you like the class or not, you never know what you may learn from it.
5. Avoid unnecessary distractions
Luxuries like television, cable and games can very well serve as a distraction to you while on campus. If you can’t handle the distraction, then don’t get them in the first place.
6. Cut down on time spent on social media.
A lot of students waste better part of the day on social media platforms and completely neglect their studies. If you want to keep up with good grades you need to cut down on the time spent on social media and focus on your studies.
7. Do your own research.
Do not rely fully on the handouts and notes given to you by your lecturers, do your own research and widen your horizon on the subject matter, you might just discover an error
8. Endeavor to study a course you are passionate about.
You have got to love reading those big books related to your course of study. You need to pick a course that excites you and are interested in gaining more knowledge about.
9. Have a mentor
This can be anyone provided that the person motivates you to want to get a first class. It may even be a study partner who shares the same motivation with you, who can help push you to do more.
10 Don’t be too serious.
Don’t disconnect your self from others just because you want a first class, try and socialize, take out time to explore and have fun this doesn’t in any way stop you from actualizing your dreams.
Plan your time well and create time for other things apart from school work that makes you happy. Remember you will only get this experience once so try and make the best out of it.
Do you agree or disagree with the points above? Lets see hear your views.

Pass your jamb 2017 with this helpful tip

Uptill now Many candidates don’t still know how to read for jamb exam or jamb cbt. This has been a serious problem to many of them. Many candidates do not get the required cut of marks for your course of choice. Others fail jamb woefully. At the and of the day, the candidate will fail to get admission. The next thing is to wait for another year to register for another JAMB exam. Most of them will end up staying at home for four year or more without getting admission. This is a serious problem and need to be solved. JAMB exam is a bit difficult than WAEC or NECO exam. That is why candidates fail. Another factor is the implementation of computer base test which has implicated the whole situation for candidates with little or no computer literacy. There are various ways you can read for JAMB and get at least 250+ this year. That’s the aim of this article. Follow below tips
(1) Use JAMB Past Questions: JAMB past questions is the number tool if you want to score high in JAMB this year. It’s easy to get jamb past questions. You can get it at the local bookshop or you can buy it from us. (2) Buy the Recommended Textbook: You need to know the recommended textbooks for JAMB. The do yourself good to buy them.
(3) Read Everyday: Now that you have the past questions and the recommended books, prepare your reading time table. From now till the exam date, read at least 3 hours everyday.
(4) Learn Computer: you quickly learn computer and it basics before February 2017 to avoid mistakes/errors while answering or using the computer during your JAMB examination. Thou, some centres do coach and put students through while the exam is ongoing.
(5) Goto Your exam centre Early: The most important of all is going to your exam centre very early even if your exam is 11am or 1pm. This will really help you to save stress, missing of exam, shortage of time and also it will help you a lot to revise more while in your centre very early.
I wish you success

See the car produced by a man in imo state

'ALEX EPHRAIMS
The story of Alex Ephraims will do no less than inspire and excite every sound mind. He was one of very few competent modernized and automated mechanic workshops in Owerri.
His exploits were so much that IMO state government of Rochas Okorocha entered into a deal with him (back in Rochas' first term) to do all kinds of things that would have transformed the state to a large extent under the auspices of ICAPS. (Well, government eventually frustrated the deal and Engr Alex pulled out).
The foreign-trained automechanical expert relocated to his own base here in Owerri and continued pursuit of his dream.
As soon as I returned to Nigeria from a business trip a few months ago, I was invited to see what he has been up to. What I saw left me thoroughly impressed.
In a private workshop of no larger than two plots of land, he had set up a car manufacturing plant here in Owerri. And he already had a finished product sample.
That's not the best part. What he does is akin to what a tailor does. He has a catalog of various car designs and specs. You peruse the catalog, choose any design you like and he produces it for you with any type of facilities or utilities or technology you desire, be it reverse camera, or air conditioner, or speed control system. His is the first known car manufacturing firm with well developed customization services in Nigeria.
He has a team of young men he picked and trained. They are specialists in their various fields of auto mechanical craft.
No material is a waste. He runs a very efficient recycling process.
Recently, he carried out a road test of his sample car. The IMO state commissioner of Police refused to deny himself the opportunity of seeing and testing the vehicle. The crowd that trailed the road test from his workshop to certain parts of Owerri was massive.
Alex hails from Nwangele LGA of IMO state

JAMB CBT Centres To Have CCTV Cameras Ahead Of 2017 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that all computer-based centres to be accredited for the registration of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), must have Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede disclosed this at an interactive meeting held at the University Of Lagos, with the operators of CBT centres drawn from across the federation.

According to Oloyede, the move was part of the measures being taken by JAMB to avoid errors of the past and also ensure that the best is offered to Nigerians.
He noted that the new process has completely phased out cybercafé operators, adding that the computer-based centres to be accredited must have 250 desktop or laptop systems in a single room with provision for additional 25 systems as back-ups.
The board also informed the CBT operators that all the 10 fingers of candidates must be captured, and that anyone whose whole 10 fingers cannot be captured by the CBT centres should be directed to the headquarters of JAMB in Abuja, he added that this was done to avoid multiple registration by candidates.
The meeting, which was attended by thousands of computer operators from across the country, witnessed debates among participants on several issues including the suggestion for the cancellation of UTME mobile applications.

 Registration Centres did off-line registration for candidates and in the process of completing them on-line, mismatched their images and made mistakes in the candidates’ data.
 Registration Centres deliberately went to the hinterland to register candidates off-line in order to create Special Centres where they could further perpetrate Irregularities during examinations.
 Punish uncompromising candidates by changing their centres and/or institutions without their knowledge/consent.
 Swapped and replaced particulars of uncompromising candidates with others and used money paid for other candidates.
MEASURES TAKEN BY THE BOARD
 Payment for access code by Registration Centres has been cancelled. All systems in the Registration Centre will be enabled for the registration.
 None of these systems therefore can be used for registration outside the Registration Centre.

 This is unlike before where only one system was used by the Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre for registration.
 Candidates will be properly educated to understand that their registration numbers are private and security numbers which they must not divulge.
 Any candidate who discloses his/her registration number, does so at his/her own risk.
 An alert system has been created for notifications on changes in the candidates details at each stage of the registration process.
ACCOUNTABILITY IN REGISTRATION CENTRES
 Registration Centres are hereby urged to appoint credible staff to man their Centre to ensure credibility and accountability.
 It has also been observed that some Public Registration Centres refused registration because of “low return”.
 These returns are not low as claimed but officers in charge do not remit appropriately.
